Asphalt Shingles

Asphalt shingles are very popular on residential homes and some commercial applications due to their low cost. They are typically worry free for 20-30 years and come in a wide variety of styles and colors to fit any taste or budget. Whether you’re looking for an inexpensive new roof to keep the water out, or you’re looking to enhance your home’s appearance and make it stand out, a PRC team member will explain all your choices and help you choose the roof system that’s right for you.

  • Asphalt shingles are made from a fiberglass fabric coated with asphalt. Crushed limestone is dyed, and ceramic coated then pressed into the hot asphalt before layers of the shingle are bonded together.

Architectural asphalt shingles are made of layers to give them a shadow line. That depth resembles the look of cedar shakes. They are by far the most commonly installed residential and light commercial roof covering. Some have different thicknesses, colors, shapes, and warranties.

Rubber Membrane

  • This application is ideal for low pitches or flat roofs. In low-slope situations, asphalt shingles won’t shed water quickly enough and may allow water to saturate or back up beneath them and potentially cause a leak. An insulation board is first applied to the roof’s surface to protect the rubber membrane. The rubber is then bonded to the insulation with an adhesive. Metal flashing is installed on the perimeter to ensure that water sheds off the roof and not under the rubber.

Skylights

We proudly install Velux brand skylights. If your skylight is more than 10 years old, we strongly encourage replacement at the time your shingles are replaced.

Enjoy a 30% TAX CREDIT when installing solar-powered venting skylights or installing solar shades. Worried about the weather? We have skylight options that are self-closing with rain sensors for your piece of mind.

  • Benefits of skylights range from improved air quality and extra natural light to reduced energy bills.

With eligible solar skylight products, your entire project — the product itself and installation — becomes eligible for a federal solar tax credit. CHIMNEY SEALING

Chimney sealing is one of the most effective ways to ensure that your chimney remains in top condition.

  • If your chimney hasn't been sealed in the last 5 years, it's overdue.

Brick and mortar are both porous materials. Your flashing can't stop water if it's getting behind it. Rain, cold, ice, heat, and time are working every day to destroy your chimney.

Add years to the life of your chimney and avoid costly repairs by having Professional Roofing seal your chimney during your roof project.

Chimney removal

  • Traditional chimneys require regular maintenance and if not kept up, may pose safety concerns if they are structurally unsound or unused. By removing your chimney, you eliminate the need for ongoing maintenance, inspections, and potential hazards, giving you peace of mind.
